Let that dry then repeated until I was able to bring it flat/matching to the rest of the ceiling (not the texture, just the flat parts). A little water added to get it to a peanut butter consistency for the fill.
I was able to use plaster washers/screws to secure the old plaster to the ceiling, then fill the lathe with joint compound.
I had to repair this at my mothers house in the cheap bc the plaster had broken out of the lathe and was gonna hurt someone.
